That got us to look around for a quick and easy way to contact authorities, neighbors, friends or family should an emergency occur. As it turns out, yes, Virginia, there’s an app for that. One touch and the cavalry comes running.
Among the emergency action apps we looked at is React Mobile which turns your iPhone into a security device that can report incidents or criminal activity.
The way it works is pretty straightforward. Press an icon button on your iPhone and a silent SOS with your GPS coordinates is sent to specific emergency contacts.
The SOS can be sent via email, iMessage or SMS text messaging, to a dedicated user console, a group of recipients, and even posting to Facebook and Twitter.
Bank teller’s have hidden security buttons which summon the cops whenever a customer tries to become a thief. React Mobile’s app functions similarly. But only similarly.
