Greenwood Police Recommend React Mobile To Stay Safe At Local Walking Trails
A Greenwood man is in jail after police say he asked a woman walking in Bell Park a question sexual in nature and began chasing her when she tried get away from him last week.
“There were other people that were in the park which we can only think that that caused him to deter his path from chasing her and go into the woods,” Will Dawson, Greenwood Police Chief said.
Baker faces a number of charges including disorderly conduct, public intoxication, fleeing and resisting arrest. Carly Hodnett works at a cell phone store in town and often goes walking in the same park with her co-worker after their shift is over.
“We’ve had some people holler shout at us before,” Hodnett said. “I mean teenage boys can be boys, but sometimes when it gets to that serious level you do want to take control, and I’m glad that [Baker’s] behind bars because who could have known what else he could have done.”
