Four apps that make life safer for realtors – Birmingham Business Journal
Practical safety precautions and strategies have been in place for real estate agents for decades. Modern technology, however, has made new tools available for agents in the field who may need to signal for more immediate help.
Real estate agencies and associations across the nation are reminding agents of these tools after Arkansas realtor Beverly Carter was murdered last week, reportedly while showing a house.
“Personal safety should be on our minds whether we are at work or out shopping at the mall,” said Birmingham (Alabama) Association of Realtors president Chip Watts. “Anyone meeting the public face-to-face should be aware, and use a certain amount of caution. We want to avoid placing ourselves in situations that don’t feel right.”
There are four apps recommended by BAR for agents to use in the field. These provide everything from alert signals via cell phone at GPS tracking ability.
